We are here assembled to address you on the state of our party, the APC, the state of the nation and the future of our experiment in constitutional democracy, in Nigeria. 2. You will recall that in the build up to the 2015 General elections, some political parties and groups came together, and formed a brand new political party, the All Progressives Congress, APC. This merger was based on the strong belief that Nigeria had come of age, but was severely underperforming and unable to meet its potentials for good governance. The Nigerian people entrusted power to the APC based on its promises and potentials. 3. BREAKING!!! A NEW FACTION OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) HAS EMERGED IN ABUJA

The new faction is named Reformed-APC (R-APC) with Buba Galadima appointed as the Chairman. The new faction is made up of aggrieved members of the APC, mostly from the National Assembly. Briefing journalists after their meeting at the Sheraton Hotels in Abuja this evening, the chairman, Galadima, said the new faction was formed due to the failure of the APC. They described APC as “severely underperforming and unable to meet its potentials for good governance.” During the  Nigerian Fourth Republic , established in May 1999, Galadima became a chieftain of the leading opposition party, the  All Nigeria People's Party  (ANPP). In June 2002 Galadima was interviewed on a proposal by President  Olusegun Obasanjo  to restructure local governments in the country. He expressed his party's opposition to the move. By Banji Ja' Afar Datti Baba Ahmed or DBA as he is fondly called is a symbolic epitome of a modest, successful and exemplary life. At just 48 years of age, he has shown himself to be a successful scholar, technocrat, businessman and politician. Born on 29 January 1969 in Zaria, Kaduna State where he had his primary school education, Datti Baba Ahmed later proceeded to the Airforce Military School, Jos where he sat for and passed his GCE O’level exams with flying colours in 1986. He thereafter commenced his tertiary education at the University of Maiduguri where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics in 1992. Not being one to rest on his oars, he would subsequently add more laurels to his academic cap by obtaining two different Masters Degrees; namely an MSc in Economics from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria in 1995 and an MBA from the University of Wales, Cardiff in 1996.
