RESTORATION CUP: Round of 16 draws at D.S.P Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall

 The draws for the quarterfinal stage of the Governor Seriake Dickson Football Tournament otherwise known as the Restoration Cup.will was held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Chief DSP Alamieyeiseigha Memorial Banquet Hall in Yenagoa. All in all, One hundred and fifty teams, including three tertiary institutions, a media outfit, a religious organisation,the Government House team and the Nigerian Air Force registered for the competition.
The event featured amongst other activities a public presentation of the tournament's Ambassador, Samson Siasia, a foremost indigene of Bayelsa, former Super Eagles player and coach of the Nigerian national team.
According to Mr. Ono Akpe, Director-General of the Restoration Cup, the choice of Siasia as the tournament's Ambassador is based on the strategic importance of promoting a Bayelsa brand that is very rooted in the dynamics of the game.
After the competition, it is expected that Siasia will among other things engage selected players in a mentoring and capacity building programme so as to equip them with some basics of playing professional football.

Methodist Church Nigeria honours Barr. Olusegun Adekunle with knighthood - Says honorific award is in recognition of service to God and Humanity

Adekunle , KJW   The Methodist Church Nigeria, Archdioceses of Kaduna on Sunday, June 23 honoured 53 individuals from various walks of life who have distinguished themselves in faith and works to the church in service to God and humanity.
