GOVERNOR DICKSON REWARDS EXCELLENCE: EMPLOYS ALL BAYELSA 1st CLASS GRADUATES.



Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State in his bid to invest in human capacity development and to reward excellence, has signed into law, the yearly automatic employment of Bayelsa State First Class graduates.
The Governor has given the beneficiaries the opportunity to make a choice of working in the public service or academia.

Bayelsa State Governor, Honorable Seriake Dickson on Monday assented to the Bayelsa State Medical University, Yenagoa Establishment Bill to support the training of medical personnel in the state that will man the various health infrastructure the state government has put in place. Governor Dickson, who signed the bill alongside the Corporate Social Responsibility and New Yenagoa City Development Agency bills into law in Government House, Yenagoa, said the 350-bed Melford Okilo Memorial Hospital is to be transformed into a teaching hospital, to cater for the training needs of medical personnel both within and outside the state. The Governor òf Bayelsa State, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has called on Nigerians irrespective of religion, ethnicity and political leaning to pray for the country ahead of the 2019 general elections. The Governor said that Nigerians and indeed all people of goodwill had a responsibility to pray for the country to ensure the conduct of free fair, credible and violence-free elections in the country in 2019. A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Relations, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei stated that the Governor  made the comment while speaking to journalists at the Chapel òf Christ the Glorious King in Abeokuta on Sunday.
